Recovering old email typically involves opening an archived mailbox. Archiving your emails lets you keep the most recent and relevant emails in your Inbox. Microsoft Outlook 2010

Step 1

Click the "File" tab and select "Open." Select "Outlook Data File."

Step 2

Browse your files and locate the archived Outlook file.

Step 3

Click the Outlook file and select the "Open" button. The archived email folder is in the Navigation Pane. Click the left "+" to expand the folder and display the inbox containing the archived email.

Google Mail (Gmail)

Step 1

Access the Google Mail website.

Step 2

Look at the left task pane and locate the 'All Email' link. If you don't see if, you may have to click the "More" drop-down button.

Step 3

Review the old email in the All Email inbox.

Groupwise

Step 1

Click the "File" tab and select "Open Archive."

Step 2

Browse your files and locate the archived Groupwise file.

Step 3

Click the Groupwise file and select the "Open" button. The archived email folder opens so you can view the archived emailed.
