It's all spreadsheet user's worst nightmare. You've worked on a Excel sheet for several hours, and then accidentally close it without saving, or the power went out, or Excel crashed. This spreadsheet hazards is going on from time to time.

But don't worry, this guide will walk you through this data loss emergency and help you recover your lost excel files.

Method 1 Stop any action on that card or disk!

You should leave the card or disk alone and do not save or delete anything you will view on it after you found something missing.
Any action will lead to a lower success rate of data recovery.
Actually there is something named "file allocation table" in all disks in your computer. If the disk FAT is corrupted or deleted, the computer can never locate the wanted data in the disk.
Therefore you cannot see your deleted files.
However when you delete some files you didn't delete the real file, it is the file's entry from the file allocation table that has been deleted.
The actual contents of the file are still existing on the disk. This is just like a book without a bookmark, you cannot locate the exact page you read last time immediately.
If you save some more files onto that disk, new data will cover the deleted files and your data will hardly be recoverable.

Method 2 Check the recycle bin.

Search the Excel files you need in the deleted files. Recover them if you found any.

Method 3 Excel Auto-Recover Feature.

As shown in the following picture, Excel has an AutoRecover feature that's designed to help you recover unsaved workbooks. If any version of Excel crashes, you sometimes get the opportunity to recover at least some of your work from the Document Recovery pane. However, this feature is limited to spreadsheets that were open in Excel at the time the program or your computer crashed.
