Regularly syncing the iPhone with iTunes not only updates the device with music, pictures and other multimedia stored on your computer, but also backs up information stored on the iPhone onto the computer. If you use an iPhone 3Gs or iPhone 4, iTunes backs up "Notes" from the iPhone and stores them alongside contact information from the email address you configure as a source for back up contacts. Retrieve deleted iPhone notes via an iTunes sync.

How to Retrieve Deleted Notes on the iPhone

Step 1

Connect the iPhone to the computer and open iTunes if it doesn't start when you connect the iPhone. Click the iPhone's name, then click iTunes' "Info" tab.

Step 2

Click the mailbox from which you sync contacts and tick the box next to "Sync Contacts From:" Return to the "Summary" tab and click "Sync."

Step 3

Unplug the iPhone once iTunes displays an "OK to Disconnect" message. Open the "Notes" application and see that your deleted notes have been retrieved.
