It's a nightmare for every Microsoft Office owner when you realize you've deleted or failed to save the changes in an Office document. However, deleting office documents by accident is extremely easy to do. Luckily, you might be able to get them back without spending another hours of hard work.

By default when a file is deleted, it's automatically sent to the Windows Recycle Bin in case it needs to be recovered if the file was mistakenly deleted. So, check the Recycle Bin first. If the Recycle Bin is empty, you may have enabled Windows to not send the file to the Recycle Bin or it's more likely that the Recycling Bin has already been emptied by you or someone else who uses the computer. If files are seen in the Recycling Bin but not that file you're looking for it's likely that file has been removed to make room for other newer deleted files.

In that case, you can have a try on WiseRecovery to get the documents back.

Here's how to recover deleted documents by using WiseRecovery.

Step 5

Perform a deep scan to look for files. This will take significantly longer, but may result in more documents found. Usually it will take about 2-10 minutes to scan, it depends on your disk size and files amount on the disk.

Step 6

Browse for the file you want. After scanning is finished, you can get a list of all recoverable files to browse through. Look through the list to see if your document was recovered and select your document and click the Restore button.
Note: Before you get your hopes up, one thing you should know is a large percentage of deleted files it does detect cannot be restored. However, if you're in the type of dire straits that you need this program, it's definitely worth trying.

WiseRecovery is designed to recover your lost files. It is highly recommended it to be used if the file is extremely important or data cannot be read from hard drive. With the right program, finding and recovering that deleted file can be as simple as a few clicks of your mouse.
